I found the best for all puropses: Berkey Purifiers

 

“Gravity Water” refers to a unit that does not need high pressure (like reverse osmosis does) and is completely gravity-fed. This is fantastic.

A solution for a source for very large supply of water for emergencies evaded me for a very long time. Plus I wanted a unity that would provide stellar water on an everyday basis.

Once I finished analyzing these purification elements, I knew I really had scored.

I used to hand-haul water from my mom’s, about 2.5 miles from where I live.  She has The Best well water I’ve ever tasted; I call it Mom’s Water. (to be continued)

CALIFORNIA & IOWA CUSTOMERS – TAKE NOTICE:

Regarding  California’s AB 1953 / SB 1334 & 1395 / HSC Section 116875 – the “no lead” law, and similar regulations in Iowa…

Because of the unclear and over-reaching regulations which are practically impossible to comply with and have been passed there, we are unable and unwilling to ship any complete Berkey purification units to customers within these two states.  We can ship to friends or family in other states, and they can ship to you. (We can ship replacement filters to Iowa)

Part of the regulations include a requirement that we get expensive, 3rd party certification that products of ours ~some of which contains no metal parts~ will not add lead to the water, even though our purifiers are proven by lab analysis do a remarkable job of REMOVING LEAD!

To give you an idea of how extensive the law’s reach is, here is a very small snippet of another part of the law currently in place:

“…Listee [the manufacturer] shall promptly furnish to CC, in writing, the street address, hours of operation, anticipated dates when plants will be temporarily closed or shut down, anticipated dates when plants will temporarily cease production and all local or state holidays of each plant where the listed product is being manufactured or to be manufactured by or on behalf of Listee, and each location where the listed product is warehoused or stored by or on behalf of Listee. Listee shall also provide the name and telephone number of a contact person for each such plant or storage location, both at the time of application for evaluation and in the event of any changes in this information. Listee shall provide such information for all plants and storage locations, whether…

No thanks. There is so much more than this tiny example, so many things that are unclear, and which carry heavy penalties, that our manufacturer has regretfully relinquished the entire markets of California and Iowa (which is the only other state with similarly absurd laws).

With clean water being such an important issue, and with how wonderfully our units perform, it’s a shame that the lawmakers make it so difficult for the best of the best, our purifiers, to be easily available.
